Slide.Show 2 is an open source Silverlight 2 control for publishing highly-customizable photo and video slideshows on the Web. This is a port of the original Slide.Show application to managed code for Silverlight 2. It includes almost all of the features of Slide.Show 1, plus many more.

Release 2.1 includes some significant stability and usability improvements, specifically fixes that plug a nasty memory leak in the initial release and a fix for the broken XML configuration provider. See below for all the details.

Silverlight 2 Version

Slide.Show 2 Source 2.1.0.0 (Silverlight 2).zip - The complete source code, samples, and documentation. This is recommended for new or curious users.
Slide.Show 2 Release 2.1.0.0 (Silverlight 2).zip - Just the Silverlight .xap file, the minimum file needed to create your own slideshows with Slide.Show 2. This is recommended for advanced or upgrading users.

Silverlight 3 Version - This has exactly the same code and functionality as the Silverlight 2 version, just recompiled using the Silverlight 3 Tools.

Rated 3 Stars (out of 5) - This SlideShow is dead good looking. However, it scales very bad with a big amount of pictures : heavy memory consumption (release events handlers !), very slow response time... I tried to write a paged data provider which load xml on need, but it requires to review the whole data access strategy. This project is a very nice Silverlight interaction/design demo, but there is no miracle.
